Józef Kremer

Józef Kremer ( born February 22, 1806 Krakow, † June 2, 1875 ) was a Polish philosopher, esthetician, art historian and pioneer of psychology.

Kremer studied at the universities of Krakow, Berlin, Heidelberg and Paris. From 1850 he was professor of philosophy at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, in 1853 he gave lectures on aesthetics and art history at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. 1870 to 1871 he was rector of the Jagiellonian University.

He was grandfather of the writer Lucjan Rydel.
