József Ficzkó
József Ficzko or Fitzkó; ( Jožef Ficko ) ( born March 15, 1772 in Boreca, † November 28, 1843 in Peresznye ) was a Burgenland-Croatian writer and Catholic priest Slovenian descent.
Ficzko grew in the Slovenian territory Tótság / Slovenska okroglina (now Prekmurje ) on. His parents were Miklós and Ilona Ficzko. Miklós Küzmics supported his studies in Szombathely ( Szombathely ). In 1797 he was ordained a priest, from 1802, he was pastor in proessing ( Peresznye ).
Ficzko had learned Croatian and worked as an author. His works have helped to promote the development of the Burgenland- Croatian literature. Ficzko rejected the Illyrism, the new Serbo-Croatian language and the alphabet gajische, he supported only the Burgenland-Croatian language.
