Juan Crisóstomo Falcón

Juan Crisóstomo Falcón ( born January 27, 1820 Jadacaquiva, † April 29, 1870 in Fort- de -France, Martinique) was a Venezuelan military and politician. Together with Ezequiel Zamora, he led an uprising against the government of José Antonio Páez, who led the so-called Federal War. Falcón was from 15 June 1863 to 25 April 1868 President of Venezuela. While Falcons presidency again there were armed uprisings. These and the ongoing economic crisis marked the reign Falcons. In 1868 he resigned from his post and left the presidency to General Manuel Ezequiel Bruzual.

Life

Juan Crisóstomo Falcón was born in Hacienda Tarbe ( in the present state of Falcón ) in 1820. His parents were Jose Ildefonso Falcón and Josefa Zavarce. He was the only son. His sister was married to Ezequiel Zamora.
