Juan José Estrada

Juan José Estrada Morales ( * January 1872 in Managua, Nicaragua; † July 11, 1947 in Bluefields, Nicaragua ) was a Nicaraguan general and 1910-1911 President of the country.

Juan José Estrada was created by José Santos Zelaya of the Liberal Party as governor of the department of Zelaya. Through the U.S. consul in Bluefields, Thomas P. Moffatt Estrada was the support pledged by the U.S. government for an uprising against Zelaya. He then led insurgent troops against government forces.

Juan José Estrada won the presidency with political backing of the U.S., which Zelaya kept him in rebellion against General assistance. In the confusion of Zelaya 's successor struggles came to power, he called for the election of a Constituent Assembly, which elected him the same day it was constituted on 1 January 1911 for constitutional president pro tempore for a period of two years. He was, however, prevented by his conservative comrades in mind to complete his term of office. He was succeeded by Adolfo Díaz.
