Juan Luque de Serrallonga

Juan Luque de Serrallonga ( born May 31, 1882 in Girona, Spain, † July 18, 1967 in Mexico City, Mexico) was a Spanish- Mexican football coach and goalkeeper.

For most of his playing career he spent in the ranks of Español de Cádiz. He also appeared in the season 1915/16 against FC Sevilla under contract.

In 1928 he immigrated to Mexico, where he worked as a trainer for long. In the 1930 World Cup, he coached the Mexican national football team and subsequently the CF Asturias. In 1950 he won the Mexican championship with the CD Veracruz.

About his mischievous temperament reported an anecdote that should have taken place during the World Cup 1930 in the match between Mexico and Argentina ( 3:6 ). Having an apparently durable long shot of the Argentine defender Adolfo Zumelzú behind the Mexican goalkeeper Oscar Bonfiglio struck in the network, the standing directly behind the goal Serrallonga reported to have said: "Man Bonfiglio, what on earth is the crap What's going on?
