Juan Verzeri
Juan Verzeri, full name Juan José Verzeri Casas, ( born May 20, 1963 in Montevideo) is an Uruguayan football coach.
Family and Education
Verzeri, in 1988 successfully finished his studies at the Universidad de la República ( UdelaR ) as a computer systems engineer, and then in 1991 in the Italian city of Padua, a postgraduate degree in mathematics graduated at the Università degli Studi di Padova, finished in 2003 a course of Asociación Cristiana de Jóvenes del Uruguay in sports marketing. From 1989 to 2005 he was also the company Quasam international consultant. He is also a lecturer ( grado 2) at the faculty of engineering of the UdelaR and at the ORT. He was never even professional football players, but for 18 years as a player in the league for Universitaria Círculo de Tenis in Montevideo. 1999 closed Verzeri who speaks Spanish as well as Italian and English, the ISEF coach training from. In the following year a further development to the international coach joined in Zeist in the Dutch football association.
Verzeri, who also has Italian nationality, is married to Virginia Grinschpun Benech and father of two sons, Santiago and Juan Martín.
Coaching career
Verzeri coached from 1998 to 2000 Círculo de Tenis and was then coach of the league selection at the Universiade in Beijing in 2001. Subsequently, he belonged to the coaching team of Julio Ribas at Bella Vista, Sud América, Peñarol and the national team of Oman. He also won in the Tercera División and the Cuarta División some championships. There he was responsible for the youth teams of Liverpool FC, River and Juventud. Finally Verzeri 2008 took over as successor to José " Nito " Puente the coach position at Racing Club in the Primera División. He led the club for the first time in the club's history in the Copa Libertadores.
Then was Verzeri coach of the Uruguayan U-20 national team. His debut celebrated on 25 July of 2010 with a 2-1 win in the friendly match against Mexico. He was responsible for the U -20 team in the U-20 South American Championship 2011 in Peru, took the second place and secured Uruguay there again after 84 years of qualifying for the Olympics. In the following years he took part with the U-20 to U- 20 World Cup 2011 in Colombia and at the U-20 South American Championship 2013 in Argentina. In July 2013 he was at the U- 20 World Cup 2013 in Turkey vice-champion with Uruguay. Overall, he has held the responsibility for the U -20 in 80 internationals. (As of July 5, 2013 ), of which his team won 32 games and was defeated 19 times. 29 matches ended in a draw. On 11 August 2010 he was in charge also after the 2010 World Cup instead of Oscar Tabarez the senior team in the game against Angola. Verzeri is also coach of the Pan - selection team ( U -22) of Uruguay. With this team, he participated in the Pan American Games in 2011 and won the bronze medal there. For the Pan - choice he had a total of six times held the responsibility of his first international match on October 5, 2011. Three wins, two losses and one Draws points from its balance sheet.
Since the beginning of January 2014 Verzeri is coach of the Saudi Arabian club Al- Ittihad. He signed a contract with one and a half year term.
