Judit Temes

Judit Temes - Tuider (born 10 October 1930 in Sopron, † August 11, 2013 in Budapest) was a Hungarian swimmer.

Life

Temes was from 1944 to 1956 member of the Hungarian national team. At the Summer Olympics in Helsinki in 1952, she won the bronze medal in the 100 m freestyle and together with Ilona Novák, Éva Novák and Katalin Szoke the gold medal in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay. With a time of 4:24,4 min their season broke the previous long course world record.

In 1954 Temes part in the European Swimming Championships in Turin, where she won silver in the 100m freestyle. In the same year they participated in Budapest with Klara killer man, Mária Littomericzky and Katalin Szoke with 05:07,8 a world record in the 4 × 100 meter medley on.

After her Schwimmkariere she studied medicine in Budapest and worked as a doctor and in sports management. She was a member of the Hungarian Olympic Committee (Magyar Olimpiai Bizottság ), the Hungarian Swimming Association and the European Federation of Ligue Européenne de Natation water. She died on 11 August 2013, 82 years, leaving a son.
