Judith Ivey

Judith Ivey ( born September 4, 1951 in El Paso, Texas, native Judith Lee Ivey ) is an American actress.

Life and achievements

The father of the actress worked at a university; her mother was a teacher. Ivey studied acting at Illinois State University, after which she worked at New York's Public Theater and on Chicago's Goodman Theatre. For their roles in the plays Steaming and Hurlyburly she won in 1983 and 1985, the Tony Award. In 1992 she was nominated for her role in the play Park Your Car in Harvard Yard for the Tony Award.

Her first film role was played by Ivey in the television comedy The Shady Hill Kidnapping from the year 1982. Television drama In What Dixie because in the monastery (1983 ), she played one of the major roles. In each case a greater role she played opposite Steve Martin and Charles Grodin in the comedy A single of Hazzard (1984) and, along with Paul Newman in the film drama Harry & Son ( 1984). In the comedy The Moles (1992 ), she appeared in a major role opposite Jeff Daniels and Hector Elizondo.

In the thriller The Devil's Advocate (1997) Ivey played the role of the mother 's lawyer Kevin Lomax ( Keanu Reeves ), the years of the Devil ( Al Pacino ) begat. The supporting role in the sitcom What the Deaf Man Heard of the same year brought her a nomination for an Emmy.

Ivey was married in 1973 to 1978, Ricardo Gutierrez. She married in 1989 in her second marriage to film producer Tim Braine, with whom she has two children.
