Judson Allen

Judson Allen ( born April 6, 1797 in Plymouth, Connecticut; † August 6, 1880 in St. Louis, Missouri) was an American businessman, lawyer and politician (Democratic Party).

Career

Judson Allen attended public schools in Connecticut and acted accordingly there with wood. He later moved to Harpursville (formerly Harpersville ) in Broome County, New York. There he was appointed on 19 March 1830 postmaster, a position which he held until 20 November 1839. During this time he was eight years Judge at the Broome County Court and 1836-1837 member of the New York State Assembly. Allen then took the 20th electoral district of New York in the 26th U.S. Congress, where he worked between March 4, 1839 March 3, 1841. He decided against a bid again in 1840 and moved to the end of his term in the U.S. House of Representatives to St. Louis, Missouri. Allen dealt there with the cultivation of agricultural products and traded with wood, marble and food. He died on 6 August 1880 and was buried at Bellefontaine Cemetery.
