Jules Mazellier
Jules Mazellier ( born April 6, 1879 in Toulouse, † February 6, 1959 in Paris) was a French composer and conductor.
Mazellier studied at the Paris Conservatoire under Charles Lenepveu Komposition.1909 he won for his composition La Roussalka the Prix de Rome. This was preceded by a " duel " with Nadia Boulanger, who had applied in the same year with a setting of the same text at the price. Later Mazellier taught at the Conservatoire de Paris as a professor. In addition to chamber music, piano pieces and songs he composed several operas.
