Jules Rimet

Jules Rimet ( born October 24, 1873 in Theuley -les- Lavoncourt, † October 16th 1956 in Paris ) is considered alongside Enrique office as the founder of the Football World Cup. He was 1919-1945 president of the French Football Federation and from 1921 to 1954 president of FIFA.

Jules Rimet was born the son of a food retailer. After leaving school, he studied law.

In 1897 he founded with some friends the French tradition club Red Star Paris, which he was president for some time. In April 1919, he became president of the new French Football Federation (initially FFFA, later FFF).

In addition, Rimet was elected on March 1, 1921 as President of the FIFA. At this time the world football association had only 20 members.
