Julia Beckett

Julia Kathleen Beckett ( born July 4, 1986 in Winchester, England) is a British swimmer.

Career

Beckett began at the age of three to four years with the swimming and joined a swimming club with nine years at. She currently trains with coach Ben Titley at Loughborough University.

Her first appearance at an international swimming competition was as part of the starting flow in British 4 × 200 meter freestyle relay at the World Swimming Championships in 2005 in Montreal. With the fifth- best time, her team for the finals, in the place you took Melanie Marshall and reached the fourth place in qualifying.

A year later, at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, she reached her first major success by winning the silver medal as part of the 4 × 200 meter freestyle relay. That same year she also launched in the run with the 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay at the European Swimming Championships in Budapest in 2006, where she finished in seventh place.

Also at the World Swimming Championships in Melbourne in 2007 it did not come as early as 2005 over a participation in the flow about 4 × 200 meter freestyle also. Also as in 2005 she won the season in fifth place and so secured qualification for the finals, the place you Francesca Halsall denied and finally was fifth.

2008 can be seen as her most be considered successful year, since on the one hand, in the spring along with the 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay won the bronze medal at the Home Short Course World Championships in Manchester and on the other hand, since it is for the British Olympic team at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing qualified. Together with the 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay, she managed 8th place in advance to qualify for the final, in which she was again not used.
