Julie Bowen

Julie Bowen ( born March 3, 1970 in Baltimore, Maryland as Julie Bowen Luetkemeyer ) is an American actress.

Life

Bowen is the second of three children. Her father Jack 's real estate agent, the older sister Molly interior designer, the younger sister of a doctor in San Francisco. Since September 2004, Bowen is married to Scott Phillips. Together they have three children.

Bowen's acting career began in 1992. She is best known for her guest appearances in television series such as ER, Dawson 's Creek, Lost, Weeds or Monk. Among her better-known movies include Happy Gilmore - A champ to fall in love with Adam Sandler and Joe Somebody with Tim Allen. From 2000 to 2004, she played a lead role in the hit TV series Ed - The Bowling lawyer. After that she was from 2005 to 2008 can also be seen in a leading role in the legal drama Boston Legal. Since 2009 she is part of the main cast of the mockumentary comedy series Modern Family. For her portrayal of over-protective mother and housewife Claire Dunphy Bowen won an Emmy in 2011 and 2012.
