Julie Gavras

Julie Gavras is a French film director and screenwriter.

She is the daughter of the director Constantin Costa -Gavras Romain Gavras and sister of the director. She studied literature and law and then started to work as an assistant director. She has worked with different directors from France and Italy, also with her father in his film The deputy.

She has directed several documentaries that were broadcast on ARTE among others. Her documentary Le corsaire, magicien le, le et les enfants voleur was published in 2002 in French cinema. Her first feature film is to blame Fidel (La faute à Fidel! ) Appeared in 2006. Their film Late Bloomers with Isabella Rossellini, William Hurt, Joanna Lumley and Simon Callow was shown at the 61st International Film Festival Berlin 2011. For both films she also wrote the screenplay.

In two of Costa -Gavras ' films - The ax and Eden is West - Julie Gavras had minor appearances as an actress.
