Julien Cools

Julien Cools ( born February 13, 1947 in retie ) is a retired Belgian footballer.

Playing career

Cools began his career at FC Beringen. In 1973 he came to FC Bruges, where he remained until 1979. Cools in 1976, 1977 and 1978 Belgian Champion 1977 Belgian Cup Winners 'Cup and came into the UEFA Cup final in 1976 and Champion Clubs' Cup finals in 1978. 1979 he moved to Germinal Beerschot. After only two years, he retired from Antwerp direction Dessel and signed for KFC Dessel Sport. His last two years as a professional athlete, he graduated at KVC Westerlo. In 1977 he was player of the year in Belgium.

International players career

Internationally, he played 35 times for Belgium, scoring two goals. He participated in the European Football Championship in 1980 partly in Italy, where he became the team captain as European Vice Champion.
