Julien Macdonald

Julien Macdonald ( born March 19, 1971 in Merthyr Tydfil, UK) is a British fashion designer who is known for his work as a former Givenchy 's chief designer and his own label Julien Macdonald.

Career

Julien Macdonald began early to get excited for knitting and studied Fashion Knitwear at the University of Brighton and then received his Master degree at the famous Royal College of Art in London.

Following his graduation, he was recruited by Karl Lagerfeld for the area Knitwear by Chanel. Also for Lagerfeld's own label Karl Lagerfeld he designed. One of the highlights of the career of Julien Macdonald is probably the position as head designer for Givenchy, succeeding Alexander McQueen, held from 2000 to 2004.

In 1997, he launched the label Julien Macdonald, which is represented today at the London Fashion Week. He also designs for the British department store chain Debenhams under the label Star by Julien Macdonald, which leads to both clothing, as well as residential products.

Special attention was given Julien Macdonald by his initiative against anorexia in the modeling industry, which he shows by he ran on his shows only models with a healthy body size.
