Julio Borges

Julio Andrés Borges Junyent (born 22 October 1969 in Caracas, Venezuela) is a Venezuelan politician and lawyer.

He is chairman of the party Primero Justicia ( "Justice First ").

Curriculum vitae

Borges finished his studies in 1992 at the Catholic University Andrés Bello, a known out by Jesuit private university in Venezuela, from. He then completed a master's degree of political philosophy and social philosophy at Boston College in the USA ( completion 1994), and another master's degree in political science and Latin American studies at the University of Oxford ( completion 1996). The Catholic University Andrés Bello appointed him honorary professor.

1998 Borges entered the public life of his country, as he prepares for the television station RCTV his own mission " Justicia para Todos " ( " Justice for All "), producer and host. In this TV show different disputes were presented, and Borges played the " justice of the peace ", which finally issued a ruling. Political career

In 2000, " Primero Justicia " was a political party. Borges became a deputy of the State of Miranda in the National Assembly and in the following years a member of various influential committees and commissions.

Since Hugo Chavez Venezuelan President was, Borges is a vocal critic of the government. He and his party supported the coup in April 2002.

His party openly supported the " oil strike " in 2002 /2003. Borges was accused by the government to support urban riots, to conspire against the government and to be an agent of the CIA. These allegations were rejected by Borges.

Borges was one of the biggest supporters of the no-confidence vote against Chavez in 2004. Having Chávez had won, he accused him of voter fraud. According to the " Primero Justicia " lost regional elections in the same year he repeated his election fraud allegations.

On 27 May 2005 Borges announced his candidacy for election to the President of Venezuela, which took place on 3 December 2006. The motto of the campaign was " Hacia el Progreso Popular " ( " For the progress of the people" ). Borges pulled his candidacy during the primaries August 9, 2006 in favor of Manuel Rosales (Governor of the State of Zulia ) back.
