Julio Kaplan

Julio Kaplan ( born July 25, 1950 in Argentina ) is a Puerto Rican chess master.

Life

Julio Kaplan emigrated in 1963 from Argentina to Puerto Rico. It was founded in 1967 in Jerusalem, Youth World Champion in front of favorites such as Jan Timman and Robert Hübner. He then received from FIDE awarded the title of International Master. Between 1966 and 1972 he represented Puerto Rico in four Chess Olympiads. Kaplan was founded in 1974 in Los Angeles, together with Florin Gheorghiu, behind Svetozar Gligorić, Second. In 1988 he retired from tournament chess. Julio Kaplan was concerned with the programming of chess programs. He now works at the software company Autodesk.
