Julio Ruiz de Alda Miqueleiz

Julio Ruiz de Alda Miqueleiz ( born October 7, 1897 in Estella, Navarre, † August 23, 1936 in Madrid) was a Spanish airline pilot and politician.

Ruiz de Alda joined at the age of 15 years in the Spanish army and graduated from the Artillery Academy in Segovia, after the pilot school in Getafe and founded the Compañía Española de Trabajos Fotogramétricos Aéreos ( CETFA ).

He was the co-pilot of the Plus Ultra aircraft during the Atlantic crossing of 1926. The Plus Ultra launched on January 22, of Palos de la Frontera in the province of Huelva and landed on 26 January in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It stops in Gran Canaria, Cape Verde, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro and Montevideo were inserted. The distance of 10,270 kilometers was completed in 59 hours and 39 minutes.
