Julius Siegmund, Duke of Württemberg-Juliusburg

Julius Siegmund von Württemberg- Juliusburg ( born August 18, 1653 oil; † October 15, 1684 in Juliusburg ) was Duke of Württemberg- Juliusburg.

Life

Julius Siegmund was the fourth son of the Duke Sylvius Nimrod von Württemberg - Oels (1622-1664) from his marriage to Elisabeth Marie of Oels ( 1625-1686 ).

After the death of his father in 1664 first introduced the mother's regency over her four sons in the Duchy of oil. The prince went to their Grand Tour, among others in the Netherlands, where the eldest brother Karl Ferdinand died in 1669.

1672 the older brothers took over the government and divided the country; Julius Siegmund received this Medzibor and Trebnitzgrund his eldest brother Sylvius Friedrich Oels and Christian Ulrich Bernstadt. After being triggered by the parent division, this resigned the regency in 1673.

Julius Siegmund chose the village Dreske his residence. Here he converted the existing castle to a baroque castle. The place was called since 1676 after the Duke Julius castle. Julius Siegmund was under the name " the unwithered " Member of the fruit -bearing Society.

Progeny

Julius Siegmund married on April 4, 1677 in Grabow Anna Sophia ( 1647-1726 ), daughter of Duke Adolf Friedrich I of Mecklenburg -Schwerin, with whom he had the following children:
