Jun’ichi Ishida

Jun'ichi Ishida (Japanese石田 纯一, Ishida Jun'ichi; born January 14, 1954 in the prefecture of Tokyo as Ishida taro石田 太郎) is a Japanese actor.

Life

Ishida was born in the prefecture of Tokyo in 1954 and lived at the age of three to six years in the United States because his father was a correspondent for NHK. He attended Waseda University, but abandoned his studies. After that he went for a year to Pasadena (California ) to study theater arts. In 1982, he had in the international television production Marco Polo his breakthrough and then played in 1984 in the Australian miniseries The Cowra Breakout. In 1988 he married actress Chiaki Matsubara of which he was divorced in 1999. He was then to 2004 married to actress Rie Hasegawa. In 2009 he married the professional golfer Riko Higashio. He has three children.
