Junior Kimbrough

Junior Kimbrough (actually David Kimbrough, born July 28, 1930 in Hudsonville, Mississippi, † January 17, 1998 in Holly Springs, Mississippi) was an American blues musician.

Kimbrough lived in northern Mississippi near Holly Springs. He took on from 1992 plates on the Fat Possum blues label. He also played his music in his bar named " Junior's Place" in Chulahoma that attracted many visitors from all over the world, including members of the band U2 and the Rolling Stones.

Junior Kimbrough died on January 17, 1998 in Holly Springs, Mississippi. After his death his sons talked Kinney and David Malone Kimbrough, who are also musicians, the bar in Chulahoma before "Junior 's Place " burned down on April 6, 2000.

The band, The Black Keys, whose members Kimbrough named as one of their main influences, published in his honor in 2006, the EP Chulahoma, exclusively on the covers of Kimbrough's songs are included.
