Šeduikytė Jurga ( born February 10, 1980 in Telšiai, Lithuania), known by her stage name Jurga, is a Lithuanian singer and songwriter.

Life

Jurga Šeduikytė was born as the daughter of a family of musicians in Telšiai. With 8 years she moved with her family to Palanga, where Jurga began piano lessons at the music school and completed her secondary schooling. At the University of Vilnius, she studied journalism.

In 2002 she took part in the Young Singer Competition Fizz Superstar. In the same year, she made under the pseudonym Dingau first concerts with the girl rock band Muscat. In 2004, she starred in the musicals Ugnies medžioklė su varovais and Tadas Blinda with.

In 2005, she began under the stage name Jurga her solo career. On September 16, came their first album Aukso Pieva (Gold meadow) out. The first single Nebijok ( Do not fear ) was 8 weeks at the top spot of the Lithuanian charts. The album was produced by Andrius Mamontovas and contains 12 tracks in Lithuanian and English, almost all originating from Jurgas spring. She has received numerous awards and gave more than 120 concerts in Lithuania and Latvia, which were all sold out. 2006 their songs came out internationally at Amazon, iTunes Music Store, Napster, eMusic, Virgin Megastore and Sony Connect.

Jurgas second album Instrukcija ( manual) came in April 2007 with 13 titles on the market. In this context, a tour was held by Lithuania and a concert at the house Annaberg in Bonn. In July 2007, her song won the Grand Prix 5th Season of the Baltic Song Festival in Karlshamn in Sweden. On 1 November of the same year she became the first Lithuanian an MTV European Music Award for Best Baltic Act.

On August 28, 2008 Jurga brought her son Adas to the world. Nearly a year later, on 26 August 2009, she married her partner and father of her son, Vidas Bareikis, singer of Suicide DJs.
