Jutta Weber
Jutta Weber ( born June 28, 1954 in Hamm ) is a German former swimmer who competed for the Federal Republic of Germany. She won medals at Olympic Games and World and European Championships.
Career
Swimming career
She began her career at SC Rote Erde Hamm, but then switched to the water Wuppertal friends to work under coach Heinz Hoffmann. There, she managed the climb in the advanced world class.
You already took part in the 1970 European Championships in Barcelona, stayed there but still without a medal. At the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 she was the first West German swimmer in 59.72 seconds under the limit of one minute in the 100 meters freestyle, but missed as Ninth nearly the final. With the 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay, she won the bronze medal behind the teams from the United States and the GDR.
In 1973, the first World Swimming Championship was held in Belgrade, in which Jutta Weber was sixth in the 100m freestyle. With the freestyle relay and the medley relay, she won a bronze medal each.
The European Swimming Championship 1974 in Vienna, the 4 × 100 meter medley relay won silver.
During the 1975 World Swimming Championships in Cali Weber was again sixth in the 100 meters freestyle. At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal she won in 57.26 seconds eighth place in the freestyle final. With the freestyle relay they also reached the eighth place, while it was preserved in the medley relay in flow, the medley relay did not reach the final.
Jutta Weber won at the German Swimming Championships in 1972, the title in the 100 meters and 200 meters freestyle. This double victory she repeated in 1973, 1975 and 1976. 1977 she won again in the 100 meters distance. In addition to the nine German championship titles in a single discipline Jutta Weber arrive in the course of her career over 20 German records.
Private career
Jutta Weber married her teammates Folkert Meeuw, the couple has three children, including Helge Meeuw, which is also swimmers. Jutta Meeuw has worked as a general practitioner in Wiesbaden.
