Jyske Bank A / S is the second largest by number of employees listed bank in Denmark with offices based in Silkeborg. It provides financial services of various kinds and at sites in Denmark, France, Germany, Gibraltar, represented in the Netherlands and in Switzerland. Jyske Bank employs around 3800 staff.

Company History

On July 7, 1967, Jyske Bank from a merger of Silkeborg Bank, the Bank Kjellerup and the Handels-og Landbobanken from Kjellerup and Silkeborg was founded in Silkeborg. With the acquisition of Samsø Bank, the Vendelbobanken and Holstebro Bank, Jyske Bank compressed its branch network in the seventies and eighties. The company histories of the founding banks date back to the 19th century. So in 1882 the headquarters of Jyske Bank in Silkeborg was built and since then constantly expanding.
