Kai Erik Herlovsen

Kai Erik Herlovsen ( born September 25, 1959 in Fredrikstad ) is a former Norwegian football player.

Herlovsen first played from 1980 to 1982 for Fredrikstad FK. He then moved at the age of 22 years in the Bundesliga to Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he stood until 1990 under contract. During this time, graduated from the Norwegian, who was employed as a central defender or defensive midfielder, 118 games. He succeeded in attaining this three gates. His career highlights include reaching the final of the DFB Cup 1984 Here Gladbach defeated by Bayern Munich on penalties ( 7:8 ). ; Herlovsen converted the first penalty Gladbach for interim 2:2. His career as an active player, he finished in his hometown of Fredrikstad.

In the Norwegian national Herlovsen debuted on April 28, 1982 against Finland. Until 1988, he played 34 games for his country, among other things, he took part in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles in part.

Since 2001 Herlovsen worked at several clubs as a football coach, including at Sarpsborg FK. Herlovsen is the father of Norwegian football national player Isabell Herlovsen.
