Kaiai ( spelling variants: Kayai or Kai Hai; variant names: rarely Ngunta ) is a village in the West African nation of Gambia.
According to a calculation for 2013 there live about 812 inhabitants, the result of the last published census in 1993 amounted to 604
Geography
Kaiai lies in the management unit Central River Region, District Niani, about two and a half miles north of the bank of the Gambia River, in the height of the Hai Kai Islands.
History
The British explorer Mungo Park was on his return from his first journey through Kaiai, which he described as Kayee, and came here in 1797 his return to Europe.
