Kaio de Almeida

Kaio Márcio Ferreira de Almeida Costa (* October 19, 1984 in João Pessoa, Paraíba ) is a Brazilian butterfly swimmer.

Career

On 17 December 2005 he made ​​his international breakthrough when he broke the short course world record in the 50m butterfly at the Brazilian Swimming Championships and thus the American superstar and butterfly specialist Ian Crocker picked up the world record.

At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, he was part of the Brazilian Olympic swimming team. Finally gave it only there for the 17th place of the 100 m and for the 19th place of the 200 m butterfly. His biggest success is winning the short course world champion title in the 100 m butterfly route at the Short Course World Championships in Shanghai in 2006.
