Kajmy

Kajmy ( German Kaymen ) is a small village in the Polish Warmian -Masurian and belongs to the urban and rural community Pasłęk ( Prussian Holland ) in Elblaski powiat ( county Elbing ).

Geographical location

Kajmy is located five kilometers northeast of the city Pasłęk and is accessible via a spur road that branches off from the province road 513. The nearest train station is Pasłęk at the State Railway of Olsztyn ( Olsztyn ) about Morag ( Morag ) to Bogaczewo ( Güldenboden ) ..

History

Said to 1945 Kaymen estate village was founded in 1874 in the newly established office district Angnitten (now Polish: Anglity ) incorporated. He belonged until 1945 to the district Prussian Holland in the district of Königsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia. In 1910 the village had 47 inhabitants.

On September 30, 1928 was Kaymen on its independence and joined with the neighboring towns Angnitten and paddocks (now Polish: Kopina ) for rural community Angnitten together.

As a result of the Second World War came Kaymen with the southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish name " Kajmy ". The now very small village is a village in the mayor's office ( sołectwo ) Gulbity ( Golbitten ) within the urban and rural community Pasłęk ( Prussian Holland ) in the powiat Elblaski the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship ( 1975-1998 Elbląg Voivodeship ).

Church

The population of Kaymen - in the majority of Protestant denomination - was until 1945 the Prussian church after Holland (now Polish: Pasłęk ) aligned. The neighboring county town was the seat of an evangelical church district within the province of East Prussia Church of the Church of the Old Prussian Union. The church in according Pasłęk has remained since 1945. The inhabitants are Kajmys today by the majority of Catholic confession and the deanery in the Diocese of Elbląg I Pasłęk of the Catholic Church in Poland assigned. The Protestant church Pasłęk is now a branch church of the parish in Ostróda ( Osterode ), which belongs to the Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Mazury in Poland.
