Kalafina

Kalafina is a Japanese band that was founded by the composer Yuki Kajiura and the record label SME Records ( a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) ) belongs. It was mainly due to the theme music of the film series to novel series Kara no Kyōkai - the Garden of sinners known. Their music is attributed to the genre of J-pop music, which often is interpreted more consistent.

Foundation

The band was formed in 2007, their debut but they announced in January 2008. At the time was only Yuki Kajiura firmly as a member. On the Dream Port 2008 on 29 April 2008, the names of two other members, Wakana Otaki and Keiko Kubota were also initiated from the Kajiura Yuki FictionJunction project, known. In May 2008, met with two other singers added: Maya and Hikaru, who were selected from a competition with 30,000 participants, organized by SME Japan.

Members

In the band Yuki Kajiura takes her usual position as a composer and arranger. The other four members are responsible as vocalists for the song. These are:

  • Wakana Ootaki (Japanese大 滝 若 菜, born December 10, 1984), it is part of the FictionJunction project, where it is known as FictionJunction Wakana.
  • Keiko Kubota (Japanese洼 田启子, born 5 December 1985), she is also a member of FictionJunction, where it is referred to as FictionJunction KEIKO.
  • Hikaru Masai (Japanese政 井 光, born July 2, 1987)

Former members

  • Maya Toyoshima (豊 岛 摩耶), according to rumors was a high school student and therefore got out.

Re / oblivious April 23, 2008 SECL -639

The remix mini album contained six tracks that were already known from the film series, but were again remixed. The album was compared with the singles with little success and reached 10,076 copies sold in 37th place in the album charts.

Seventh Heaven March 4, 2009

Named after the title theme of the seventh chapter Satsujin Kōsatsu ( Ato ) of Kara no Kyōkai - the Garden of sinners to the album contained 14 tracks, several of which are already known to the film from the albums.
