Kalanchoe robusta is a species of the genus Kalanchoe in the family Crassulaceae ( Crassulaceae ).

Description

The perennial, completely bald Kalanchoe robusta reaches stature heights of up to 50 centimeters. The gray, rugged, sparsely branched shoots are terete at the base and have a diameter of 1 to 3 centimeters. The fleshy leaves are pushed to the shoot tips back and sit at a 5 to 10 mm long petiole. Your obovate, oblong to oblanceolate spatelige leaf blade is 3.5 to 9 inches long and 2.5 to 4 centimeters wide. The leaf blade is tapered at the top and narrowed at the base. The inflorescence is a more or less dense panicle. The flowers horizontally placed sitting at 6-12 mm long pedicles. The Glauk - green calyx tube is 1.5 to 1.7 mm long, ending in triangular, acuminate, sometimes sparsely glandular lobes which are 3-5 mm long and 2-3 mm wide. The corolla is bright orange. The cylindrical, 12-35 mm long corolla tube is contracted at the base, slightly curved and zygomorphic. It has ovate -oblong, rounded tip 6-10 mm long and 3-5 mm wide with an attached Spitzchen. The stamens are attached little below the middle of the corolla tube and extend all out of the corolla tube. The almost circular, obtuse or slightly ausgerandeten Nektarschüppchen are 1 to 3 millimeters long and 1.5 to 1.8 millimeters wide. Seen from the side, the 6 to 20 millimeters long carpel is ovate - lanceolate. The pen is 5 to 12 millimeters long.

Systematics, distribution and hazard

Kalanchoe robusta is widespread endemic to Socotra. It grows on rocky slopes between limestone and granite blocks. The first description was in 1882 by Isaac Bayley Balfour. Kalanchoe robusta is endangered in the Red List of Threatened Species IUCN as potentially " Vulnerable (VU) " classified.
