Kálnica

Kálnica (Hungarian Kalanos - to 1907 Kálnic ) is a municipality in western Slovakia with 1046 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011), which belongs to Okres Nové Mesto nad Váhom, a part of the Trenčín Region.

Geography

The municipality is located in the northern end of the Danube hilly area below the eastbound Mountains Považský Inovec. Through the town of Bach Kalnický Brook, which flows a few kilometers downstream in the Waag flows. The soils are suitable for agriculture mediocre fruitful. The highest point of the municipality lies on the mountain Ostry vrch (910 nm) The center is located at an altitude of 215 m nm and is seven kilometers from Nové Mesto nad Váhom and 25 kilometers from Trenčín.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1396 as Kabucza writing. The history is closely linked with that of the nearby castle Beckov on the basis of belonging to their estate. Panská Kálnica and Rožnova Kálnica: Due to complicated power relations two districts, which in 1888 merged again later emerged. Both places were dominated by agriculture and then also viticulture, fishing, weaving and manufacture of wood products were distributed.
