Kamesznica

Kamesznica is a village in the municipality Milówka in powiat Zywiecki in Silesia.

Geography

Kamesznica is located in the Silesian Beskid Mountains, a mountain range in the outer Western Carpathians, south of the town of Zywiec.

The village extends over several kilometers along the road in the valley of Bystra and Janoska on the southeastern slope of the Barania Góra.

Through the town flows the Bystra and Janoska which open in the center of the village in the Kameszniczanka.

History

The first written mention dates from 1628. 1940 1269 people in the context of Saybusch action from the village were expelled.

The trail of Kamesznica on the Barania Góra is known as one of the oldest marked hiking trails in Poland.
