Geography

Kanilai in the West Coast region in the district of Foni Kansala is about five kilometers south of the South Bank Road, The Gambia 's main trunk road which crosses the country from west to east and is about 70 kilometers from Brikama. Kanilai lies directly on the border to the Casamance region in Senegal. It settle mainly residents who belong to the Diola ethnic group, here.

History
