Kapp Records

Kapp Records was an American record label, founded in 1954 by David Kapp, brother of Jack Kapp (Founder of the American Decca Records). David Kapp sold his label to MCA Records in 1967, then it einstellten 1973.

Kapp Records brought primarily "middle of the road" - out music. One of the most successful artists of the label was pianist Roger Williams, who stayed until the end at Kapp. Other artists that were published at Kapp Jane Morgan, Lenny Welch, Country singer Freddie Hart and Mel Tillis; also Jack Jones and jazz musicians such as Kenny Ball and Carmen McRae - Louis Armstrong landed with Hello, Dolly! 1964 a No. 1 hit. The Searchers were driven by Kapp in the U.S. market. The last hit single was the title Cher Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves 1971.
