Karel Dujardin
Karel Dujardin ( 1622 in Amsterdam, † November 20, 1678 in Venice) was a Dutch painter and printmaker.
Little is known about his training: According to Houbraken he was a pupil of N. Berchem. Around 1640 he is in Rome, in 1650, he returned to Amsterdam, after a brief stay in Paris, he has been living since 1652 in Amsterdam and from 1656 to 1658 a member of the Confrérie Pictura in The Hague. 1675 return to Italy. Besides Arcadian landscapes he created genre scenes, Historenbilder, portraits and about 50 etchings.
