Kari Bremnes
Kari Bremnes ( born December 9, 1956 in Svolvær, Lofoten, Nordland) is a Norwegian singer and songwriter.
Life
She studied at the University of Oslo Nordic studies, history and theater studies and worked as a journalist before 1986 opted for a career as a musician.
She was influenced by Joni Mitchell, Frank Zappa, Donovan, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and the Beatles. Their first album was a setting of poems by Tove Ditlevsen by Petter Henriksen.
Most of their albums are due to their excellent sound quality especially with audiophile -oriented music listeners popular, such as the concept album Svarta Bjørn on the historically documented figure of Anna Rebecka Hofstad (or " Anna Norge " ), the end of the 19th century as bunkhouses - cook for track workers hired during the construction of the swedish-Norwegian Erzbahn and thus one of the few women in a man's world was almost completely closed.
Tours
Kari Bremnes toured except through Norway by Germany, Austria, France and Japan.
Honors
Three times received the Norwegian Award Spellemannpris ( Spielmann price): 1987 hjerte for her first solo album Mitt ville ( My Wild Heart) and 1991 for the album Spor (track), which was also her brother Lars was involved. In 2000, she received the award together with her brothers Lars and Ola given for the joint album Soløye ( sun eye).
