Karl Gussow

Karl Gussow (also: Carl Gussow, born February 25, 1843 in Mountain Havel, † March 27, 1907 in Pasing ) was a German painter and university professor.

Karl Gussow worked in Italy and Weimar. In the 1870s, he taught at the Grand Ducal Baden School of Art in Karlsruhe, from 1876 and until at least 1880/81 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Berlin. In 1883 he taught in Munich.

Karl Gussow was one of the realists. He was known that he had bind particularly short -crafted brushes. He created it particularly extreme glazes. According to him, the Gussowpinsel is named.
