Karl-Heinz Dorner
Karl -Heinz Dorner (born 25 October 1979) is a former Austrian ski jumper.
Dorner began his international career at the Junior World Championship 1995 in Sweden Gällivare. In the team competition on the normal hill he won the silver medal together with Werner Schernthaner, Martin Zimmermann and Reinhard Schwarzenberger. Shortly thereafter, Dorner started for the first time in ski jumping Continental Cup. On 8 December 1995 Dorner made his debut in the World Cup Ski Jumping. In his first competition in Villach, he was at the end of 31 and missed so only one place the World Cup points ranking. Two weeks later he was able to win in Oberhof with the 21 course in his first World Cup points. When in February, it held the Junior World Championship in 1996 in the Italian Asiago he won jointly with Martin Zimmermann, Markus Eigentler and Michael Kury again the silver medal in the team competition. Shortly afterwards, he finished the Continental Cup 1995/96 season for the first time on a place in the overall standings. So he reached the 98th place with 86 points. The following season he reached the 44th place with a total of 225 points at the end. In addition, he started again at the Junior World Cup and won the Canadian Canmore in the team competition bronze medal. In Continental, he was able to increase his performance in the 1997/98 season again. He finished with 426 points at the end of the 21th place in the overall standings. Due to this good performance, he was on 4 January 1998, also for national team at the World Cup competition in Innsbruck. From January 1999 he started again for some jumping in the World Cup, where he again won two World Cup points on the large hill in Harrachov. On March 18, 2001 Dorner played his last World Cup competition as part of the Ski Flying World Cup in Planica. After the season, he finished his career in the World Cup as well as the Continental Cup. However, in 2003 he jumped three jumping as part of FIS races before he finally ended his career at the age of only 24 years.
