The Karl- Renner- house ( Dr.- Karl-Renner House, Resort, Dr. Karl Renner ) is a former refuge and now a sports hotel in the Kitzbuehel Alps. It is located in the upper Saalachtal, community Saalbach -Hinterglemm in Salzburg, and is managed by Friends of Nature.

It is located on the outskirts of the village of Hinterglemm, at about 1100 m above sea level, the ski area of the town on the Westgipfelbahn.

History

The Karl- Renner-Haus is named after the former Austrian politician and co-founder of Friends of Nature Karl Renner. It was financed by membership fees, ERP loans and a refuge lottery and opened on August 15, 1952. In the period of economic boom of the 1950s and 60s, the Karl -Renner- house was a popular holiday destination, but suffered from 1985 to the lack of access for motor vehicles because the necessary repairs could not be carried out. This eventually led to a new building in the years 2006/ 07 and the Karl -Renner- house was reopened on 12 October 2008 as the Sporthotel Friends of Nature.
