Karla Bonoff

Karla Bonoff (* December 27, 1951 in Santa Monica, California) is an American singer- songwriter.

Songwriter

As a songwriter Bonoff has worked among others for the following performers: Home for Bonnie Raitt, Wynonna Judd Tell Me Why for or Is not It Always Love for Lynn Anderson. Linda Ronstadt has recorded several of her songs, including Someone To Lay Down Beside Me, Trouble Again, All My Life or Falling Star. Stylistically, Karla Bonoff is assigned mainly to the West Coast music or folk-rock. Their main instruments are the piano and the acoustic guitar.

Singer

Bonoff had made himself not only as a writer but also as a background singer for Ronstadt a name before in 1977 her first album Karla Bonoff recorded. She managed so that in the U.S. charts a position among the top 100 as well as with the decoupled Single I Can not Hold On. Her two following albums Restless Nights (1979) and Wild Heart of the Young ( 1982) achieved rankings among top 50; with the single Personally she won in 1982 in the short term the position 19 in the Billboard Hot 100 After the less successful album New World ( 1988) she took a long break and studio refocused more on writing songs. In September 2007 she released a live album the first time in a new production.

Member of Bryndle

Karla Bonoff has at times been a member of the group Bryndle, which included beside her Wendy Waldman, Kenny Edwards and Andrew Gold to 1996. After an initial phase of cooperation in the 1970s ( the other three musicians were among others beside Linda Ronstadt participated in Bonoffs first albums ), this group mainly active in the mid-1990s.
