Karnak king list

The King List of Karnak is a representation of ancient Egyptian kings ( pharaohs ) in the temple of Amun at Karnak.

Structure and Content

The king panel shows Thutmose III. standing, as he sacrifices before 61 seated kings. In addition each imaged King each cartouche is listed. The text reads:

"King Men - cheper - re ( Thutmose III. ), The life duration, power and health are given as Re for ever. Running a hetep -di- nisut - sacrifice ( " a victim who is the King" ) for the kings of Upper and Lower Egypt. "

In this illustration, it is probably not a list of kings in the strict sense, but the picture of King statues of Thutmose III. vorfand the rebuilding of the temple and deposited elsewhere. The list is organized not chronologically, but is of some importance, as it is called rulers of the First and Second Intermediate Period, which are not listed in any other king list.

The King's Table is currently in the Louvre.
