Karnice, Gryfice County

Karnice ( German Karnitz ) is the name of a village and the seat of a rural community in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship ( województwo zachodniopomorskie ) in the district ( powiat ) Gryficki, community Karnice.

The village Karnice

In the years 1975-1998 Karnice belonged administratively to the province of Szczecin ( województwo Szczecińskie ).

History

The estate was purchased in 1840 Carnitz along with envy, Nitznow and Gützelfitz of Ferdinand Ludwig Elbe ( 1791-1857 ). It was set up with a Fideikommiss 54,000 thalers capital value whose head bore the name Elbe Carnitz. The last landowner Ruth von Elbe Carnitz, born of Reichel, fled in early 1945 before the Red Army.

Attractions

Attractions in the village are the church of the 15th century, rebuilt in the Baroque style in the 18th century as well as a romantic chapel from the 19th century.

The church has a rich baroque interior. At that includes a baroque organ, whose construction is 1680. It is the only organ from the 17th century in Eastern Pomerania, the ( unchanged valves) has original wind loading as well as substantial portions of the tracker action and the wedge bellows. The organ was built in the late 18th or early 19th century in the Karnitzer Church; where it came from is unknown. It is possible that prior to installation in Karnitz a two-manual organ, which was reduced for installation. The disposition was changed during installation.

In 1945 the instrument was badly damaged. Later, the side balconies were demolished and parts of the parapet rotated 90 ° to the pedal towers set.

Traffic

Through the territory of the gmina Karnice run three provincial roads.

  • The Province Road 110 ( droga wojewódzka 110) crosses the municipality in north-south direction and provides the connection to the city of Gryfice or to the Baltic Sea coast,
  • The Province Road 103 runs east -west direction and connects the Gmina Karnice Kamien Pomorski with ( Pomerania ) in the west and Trzebiatów ( Treptow Rega ad ) in the east,
  • The voivodeship road 102 finally touched the northern part of the gmina and connects - in its role as Droga Nadmorska ( coastal road ) - the municipality with the Baltic activities Międzyzdroje ( Misdroy ) and Kolobrzeg ( Kolberg).

From regular rail traffic Karnice was separated after 1945. Until then, here Station the railroad line from Wietstock was (now Polish: Wysoka Kamieńska ) about Pomerania ( Kamien Pomorski ) to Treptow ad Rega ( Trzebiatów ). Also, here held the Greifenberger small train on its route from Pommern to proceed via re election ( Rewal ) and Horst to Treptow.
