Kartlewo, Åšwidwin County

Kartlewo ( German name: Kartlow at Schivelbein ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It belongs to the Gmina Świdwin (Town Schivelbein ) in a circle Świdwin.

Geographical Location

Kartlewo is a linear village with former manor and more than twelve kilometers northwest of Świdwin on a side road connection from Świdwin about Lekowo ( Leckow ) to Ząbrowo ( Semerow ). The community is surrounded by large areas of forest.

History

In 1563 Kartlow is first mentioned, draws as Duke Eric of Brunswick with an army group of Gdansk coming through the town. 1569 sold Dionis Scharnhorst to Kartlow the city Schivelbein eight hooves in the field marks.

As a result of the Thirty Years' War are inhabited Kartlow in 1679 by five former farms only two. 1736 figure is up again eight pawns.

During the Seven Years' War, the town has again suffered troops pulling.

Landowner is in 1806 Major Brock Hausen.

Until 1932 Kartlow belongs to the district Schivelbein until this in the county Belgard ( Persante ) is incorporated. Kartlow was in official and civil registry district Schlenzig (Polish: Słowieńsko ) in the District Court area Schivelbein.

In 1939 lived in the 812.0 acres community 100 inhabitants in 23 households. The estate was managed by the Countess of Wallnitz.

On March 3, 1945 Kartlow was occupied by Russian troops. The local population was expelled. The village came under Polish administration and is now considered Kartlewo, a village of Gmina Świdwin.

Church

Parish

Kartlow was until 1945 an independent parish. With the parishes Semerow and Berkenow they formed the parish Semerow, which belonged to the church district Schivelbein in the church of the Evangelical Church of Pomerania Old Prussian Union.

The parish counted in 1940 a total of 830 church members, of which 74 belonged to the parish Kartlow. The church patronage for Kartlow was for the Countess of Wallwitz.

Today Kartlewo is part of the parish Koszalin ( Koszalin ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Polish Evangelical-Augsburg Church.

Village Church

Kartlow had a simple timber-framed church with three-sided statements. The tower was the west side semi- purposed. The church no longer exists.
