Kaspar Fürstenau

Kaspar Fuerstenau ( born February 26, 1772 in Münster, † May 11, 1819 in Oldenburg ) was a German flutist and composer.

Fuerstenau received his first musical instruction from his father, an oboist of the court orchestra of the Bishopric of Münster. After his father's death, his employer, the Prince-Bishop of Münster Maximilian Friedrich von Koenigsegg -Roth Rock, further education organized by the bassoonist Anton Bernhard Romberg.

1788 Fuerstenau was taken by Maximilian Frederick 's successor, Maximilian Franz of Austria, in the court orchestra. There then was, inter alia, the flutist Joseph Antoni his teacher. From 1793 onwards Fuerstenau was repeatedly sent by his employer on study trips to the courts of London, Paris and Vienna.

From 1794 Fuerstenau was a member of the court orchestra of the Grand Duke Paul, whose music teacher, he was also for some time. He joined the Masonic Lodge in Oldenburg to golden stag.
