Liz Claiborne Inc. is an American fashion company and was founded in 1976, among others, by Liz Claiborne in New York City. Its business areas include the design and marketing of men 's and women's fashion, accessories and perfumes. The company turnover was nearly 5 billion U.S. $ in 2006. The company has 30,000 stores and employs approximately 17,000 employees.

History

In 2006, the company had 500 list at number 440 of the Fortune. In 1986 it was the first founded by a woman's company, which was included in this list.

Mexx

Mexx was originally founded in 1980 by fashion designer Rattan Chadha in the Netherlands. Received its current name, the company in 1986, when connection of the abbreviations of the two former brands Moustache (for men) and Emanuelle (for women ) with two " kissing " in the form of the double X: M ( oustache ) E (manual ) XX = MEXX.

Enyce

Enyce was founded in 1996 by three young men in New York - Evan Davis, Lando Felix and Tony Shell man. The name comes from the abbreviation Enyce N.Y.C. from and is meant as a tribute to the city of New York City. End of 2003, Enyce was acquired for a purchase price of 114 million U.S. dollars from the U.S. fashion company Liz Claiborne Inc., on this occasion, the expected net revenues for 2003 of 95 million U.S. dollars was given.

Enyce today has two different sub- labels: Enyce and Lady. The garments of this brand are sold worldwide and are especially popular among followers of the hip- hop scene. Enyce brings inter alia baggy pants, oversized polo shirts (hooded ) sweater, t-shirts, jogging suits, jackets of any kind, basketball shoes and basketball and baseball caps on the market. The products are all located in high price segment, such as pants can cost an average of baggy pants to well above 200 €.

Meanwhile the brand in October 2008 for 20 million U.S. dollars from the singer Sean Combs aka P. Diddy and his fashion label, Sean John Clothing Inc. was acquired.
