Kathinka Pasveer

Kathinka ( born June 11, 1959 in Zaandam ) is a Dutch flute soloist. As an interpreter of the works of Karlheinz Stockhausen she starred in many world premieres.

Life

Kathinka was the daughter of the organist, choral conductor and organ composer Jan Pasveer and his wife Klasina. She studied with Frans Vester at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague. Already in its final year she was principal flute in the Symphony Orchestra Gewestelijk and also worked from December 1982, with Karlheinz Stockhausen projects. In July 1983, she completed her concert exam with distinction. That same year she played at the Donaueschingen Music Festival, the world premiere of Stockhausen's composition Kathinkas singing as Lucifer's Requiem for flute and six percussionists, the second scene of Saturday from light.

In subsequent years, she performed as a soloist in the premieres of Stockhausen's opera cycle with light, as in 1984 with the premiere of Saturday from Light at La Scala. In addition, she was Associate since 1983 by Karlheinz Stockhausen in the Electronic Music Studio of the WDR Cologne and at IRCAM. They also assisted Stockhausen in his mixing and the sound director. Stockhausen devoted her numerous works, in which she played the premiere. Together with Bassetthornistin Suzanne Stephens directs the Stockhausen Foundation for Music on the mountain chain.

As a solo flutist, she played except the works by Stockhausen also Mozart's Flute Concerto in G major with the cadences of Karlheinz Stockhausen.

As part of the Schleswig -Holstein Music Festival, she played on August 24, 2009, premiere of Stockhausen's posthumous work paradise for flute and electronic music, 21 hours of sound.

In the scenic premiere of Stockhausen Sunday of light from the light opera cycle in the State House Cologne she had in April 2011 together with the conductor Peter Rundel the musical direction.
