Kathleen Shaw

Gertrude Kathleen Shaw ( born January 18, 1903 in Barton -upon- Irwell, England; † 1983 in Wales) was a British figure skater who started in a single run.

Kathleen Shaw won in 1927 the first women's competition at the British Championships. Madge Syers, Dorothy Greenhough -Smith and Phyllis Johnson had not won their title in the men's competition, as there were no ladies competition. 1929 and 1930 Shaw was again British champion. The first European Championship, in which there was a separate women's competition, took Shaw in Berlin in 1930 to eighth place. She participated in three World Cups, their biggest success was winning the bronze medal at the World Championships 1926 in Stockholm, behind Herma Szabo and Sonja Henie. Shaw represented Great Britain at two Olympic Games. 1924 in Chamonix, they finished seventh and in 1928 in St. Moritz Fourteenth.
