Kathryn McGuire

Kathryn McGuire ( born December 6, 1903 in Peoria, Illinois, † October 10, 1978 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actress of the silent era.

Career

The actress, whose birth present conflicting information, began her career as a dancer. The director Thomas H. Ince discovered the young woman and offered her a film contract in. In the aftermath Kathryn McGuire turned mainly comedies for Mack Sennett and Lupino Lane. In 1922 she was one of the first actresses that were chosen to WAMPAS Baby Stars.

Her most famous roles she had as a partner of Buster Keaton in Sherlock, Jr. and The Navigator, both released in 1924. The sound film ended her career relatively quickly.
