Katie O'Brien
Katie Jill O'Brien ( born May 2, 1986 in Beverley ) is a British tennis player.
In 2000 she played her first tournament in Hull on the ITF Tour. In 2005 she won the tournament. The following year she won the ITF tournament in Nottingham, 2009 in Sutton and Jersey, respectively in the UK. 2003 O'Brien was a British junior champion in singles and doubles. At the Grand Slam tournaments their best result so far is the reach the second round at the Wimbledon Championships in 2007 and Australian Open 2010. In doubles, she came through the first round not out at the Wimbledon Championships. Her most last professional tournament they played in June 2011 at the Wimbledon Championships 2011, where she was defeated in the first round of the main draw of the Japanese Kimiko Date Krumm with 0:6, 5:7.
O'Brien studied Business Administration at the Open University. She has a brother and a sister.
